Raising independent people
We emerged out of the call for a safe and stimulating learning environment in the inner city of Johannesburg.
Since we started our activities in 2018, we have grown from an afterschool center to a holistic learning hub where children, young people and adults can explore ways to counter existing oppressive education systems that have locked generations into cycles of dependence and poverty.
Our mission is to raise young people with agency and the self-confidence to pursue the lives they want to live.

Skills development
We offer skills workshops and courses in different fields aiming to strengthen independence, self-confidence and self-determination.

Pop-up (Non)School
Our (Non)School offers basic educational activities such as literacy and numeracy, complemented by self-directed learning and subjects related to the decolonization of the classroom and the reclaiming of indigenous knowledge.

Team T
Our bicycle team Team Tshepo is a community bike workshop and a sports club in one ofering a safe space for youth and learn-to-ride courses to our children and adults.

Forest East
Our teenage program is youth led and in constant movement. We work towards giving our young adults the agency necessary to determine their own lives
